THE GARDEN WEDDING OF BRIDE FRANKIE & GROOM ALEX
The Isra Gown by Bo & Luca.
Why the Isra gown? I had originally gone to The Lover’s Bride to try on the Manhattan gown which I had fallen in love with online. However, when I tried it on I realised it wasn’t the one for me. I loved the uniqueness of the Isra gown on the hanger and as soon as I put it on I knew it was the dress I wanted Alex to see me in on our wedding day. The 2 piece element is so different and the paisley design was a little nod to India – it was just perfect!
In 2008 I was travelling around India with a friend from University. In a very unremarkable, dusty town my friend and I walked down the stairs of our guest house for breakfast. At the same time Alex and his friend were walking past and decided to duck in, introduce themselves and sit themselves down and share breakfast with us. We went our separate ways after a few days spent together and although we did meet again in India it wasn't until we got back to the UK that our story really started. After both dating other people but keeping in contact, Alex invited me to his family house in Oxford for a day of punting. I can still remember the butterflies I felt as we shared our first kiss that night. At the time I wasn’t sure where this kiss would take us as I had a flight booked to China for a further travelling trip. To my delight Alex decided he would give up his job and follow me across the globe, travelling for 8 months, spending every day together and becoming the team we are today.
"The best day
of my life...
Saturday 6th August, 2016
We got married in my parents back garden with tipi’s set out on the back field for the reception. It was the only place I could imagine getting married and being at home surrounded by the people we love was so special.
Tell us your favourite moment?
Alex and I had promised each other that we would slip away from the party just to take stock of the day and it was the best decision. We walked to the bottom of the field where the tipis were and looked back at them all lit up. We shared our best moments so far and star gazed for a bit before heading back to join in. It was so special and really allowed us to take in just how incredible a day it had been.
Ok, tell us something random?
We had my Dad’s Morris Minor to take us from the garden to the field. However, when Alex tried to get the car started it didn’t want to play ball. We nearly had to have a bump start before we realised that we hadn’t turned the key!!
your LOVERS BRIDE EXPERIENCE, tell us?
The perfect, bohemian wedding dress shopping experience! I felt relaxed from the first moment I entered the exquisite showroom. Charley was so great throughout and made the whole experience so perfect. (sorry - more than 10 words!)
ANY TIPS FOR OUR FUTURE BRIDES?
Take that time out with your husband just to reflect on the day. You won’t regret it and the party will still be going on when you get back!
